Ex-Sonics to Coach All-Star Classic at Western Conference Playoffs

MONROE, Wash. - June 16, 2008 - The Snohomish County Explosion will be hosting this year's IBL Western Conference Championship and the 2008 IBL North/South All-Star Classic coached by former Sonics Slick Watts and James Donaldson at the Monroe Sports Arena. The Explosion were the 2007 Western Division Champions.

Tickets are now on sale for the 2008 IBL Western Division Championship. The Explosion are currently seeded fourth in the tournament and have a chance to move up to third this week. They will play an opening night game on Friday, June 27 at 7:30pm (PST).

The weekend kicks-off with the 2008 IBL Western Division elimination round on Friday, June 27th, followed by semi-final games on Saturday, June 28th at 5pm and 7:30pm (PST). The IBL North/South All-Star Game, 3-Point Shoot-out and Slam Dunk Contest will be followed by the Western Conference Championship game on Sunday, June 29th. The All-Star Classic will tip-off at Noon (12pm PST) followed by the Championship game at 2:30pm on Sunday.

Teams from across the globe that may compete for the IBL Western Division title include the Edmonton Chill (Canada), Los Angeles Lightening, Las Vegas Stars, Portland Chinooks, Bellingham Slam, Central Oregon Hotshots, Jazz of Tacoma and Vancouver Volcanoes. The 2008 IBL North/South All-Star Classic will take place directly before the Western Conference Championship game, featuring the best talent from all across the country.
