ON THE OUTSIDE LOOKING IN

Monterey Bay FC enters Saturday's match in 10th place in the USL Championship Western Conference. Their 2-0 loss on the road against the Birmingham Legion made it four straight matches without a win for MBFC and put them on the outside looking in of the playoff picture in the West. After being on the road for their last three matches, MBFC will be hoping that a return to Cardinale Stadium will bring them better luck, where they are 6-6-4 this season. The Crisp and Kelp are still mathematically alive heading into Saturday, but will need all three points and results elsewhere to go their way to get back into the playoff picture.

SEARCHING FOR A SEASON SWEEP IN SEASIDE

Orange County SC heads into Saturday's matchup in third place in the USL Championship Western Conference. The Black and Orange earned all three points last time out after they defeated reigning champions San Antonio FC 1-0. Forward Milan Iloski scored his 15th goal of the season, but it was the play of goalkeeper Colin Shutler and his defense that secured all three points with a key save and a goal line clearance from defender Andrew Fox in stoppage time after defending with 10 men for over 30 minutes. They will be without forward Marc "Sparky" McNulty Saturday after he received a straight red card against SAFC last Saturday. OCSC can move into second place with a win on Saturday and if SAFC drop points against Indy Eleven on Saturday.
