Everblades Sign Forward Pitt
ESTERO, FL - Florida Everblades president and general manager Craig Brush along with head coach Greg Poss announced today the team has agreed to terms with forward Scott Pitt.
The Ottawa, Ontario native finished the season with the 'Blades after completing a four-year career with Mercyhurst. He was held scoreless in nine games but did chip in two assists and finished +1. Pitt also suited up for three games in the ECHL Kelly Cup playoffs versus Kalamazoo last season.
Head coach Greg Poss said he is happy to have Pitt back, "Scott is a very solid player that can play in all situations. He has a lot of skill and I believe will be one of our most productive forwards overall next season."
The rookie forward recently wrapped up a four-year collegiate with the Mercyhurst Lakers. The 23-year-old completed his senior campaign with a team-leading 41 points in 37 games. Both his goal total (19) and assist total (22) also led the Lakers.
The 6-foot-1, 190-pound forward posted a collegiate career-high 45 points during his sophomore campaign in 2008-09, finishing second on the team in scoring that year and was named to the AHA All-Tournament Team. Overall in his four seasons at Mercyhurst, the Ottawa, Ontario native tallied 132 points (47g, 85a) in 156 games.
