Evansville's Bryan Gillis Named Oakley CHL Goaltender of the Week

GLENDALE, AZ (January 10, 2012) -The Central Hockey League announced today that Evansville's Bryan Gillis has been named the Oakley Central Hockey League Goaltender of the Week for the period ending January 8, 2012.

The IceMen went 3-0-1 last week with the rookie Gillis in net for all three victories. The Halifax, Nova Scotia native allowed just five goals on 83 shots while sporting a 1.67 goals against average. His strong play helped his team keep pace with the Turner Conference leading Fort Wayne Komets as the IceMen are tied are second place in the conference just six points away from first.

Gillis' games included a 26-save effort against Quad City on Tuesday and then 25-save and 27-save performance against Bloomington on Friday and Sunday respectively.

The 6-0, 170-pound net minder is 10-3-1 on the season with a 2.90 goals against average and a .907 save percentage.
