Ethan Hollingsworth Joins Naturals

SPRINGDALE, AR - The Naturals' parent club, the Kansas City Royals announced a pair transactions on Monday afternoon affecting the Northwest Arkansas roster. Relief pitcher Andrew Dobies was placed on the 7-Day disabled list and RHP Ethan Hollingsworth was transferred from Triple-A Omaha to Northwest Arkansas.

Hollingsworth posted a 2-2 record with Triple-A Omaha appearing in nine games and making one start on April 28 against Memphis. The right-hander allowed 33 hits in 22.1 innings of work for Omaha walking nine and striking out 15.

The Joliet, IL native was previously in the Texas League with Midland in 2011 going 6-5 that season with a 3.61 ERA in 17 games and 16 starts. He was also with Tulsa in the 2010 season making two starts in that campaign for the Drillers. Hollingsworth was acquired from the Oakland Athletics in exchange for former Natural Kila Ka'aihue last September andwill wear number 26 for the Naturals.

Andrew Dobies last pitched for the Naturals on May 13 going three innings without allowing a hit, walking one and striking out two. Dobies has posted a 5.40 ERA in two games this season for the Naturals.

Following the transaction, the Naturals' roster is at the Texas League limit of 25 active players, and includes Greg Holland on a major league rehab assignment.
