Ohio Valley Greyhounds News Release

Wheeling, WV- Former Ohio Valley Greyhounds and West Virginia Mountaineers star Angel Estrada made his Arena Football debut on Sunday, playing at defensive back for the Nashville Kats in their 59-48 loss to the Philadelphia Soul.

Estrada performed above expectations, tallying 3 tackles (2 solo, 1 assisted), good enough for second on the team. The former Hound also broke up a pass in his first action since leading the Greyhounds to the Atlantic Conference Championship last season.

Another former Greyhound, E.J. Burt, recorded a sack in Orlando's 61-46 victory over Tampa Bay on Friday night. E.J., who played his collegiate football at West Liberty State College, leads the Predators with 3 sacks this season.

Burt and Estrada join former Bellaire gridstar and Colorado Quarterback Jose Davis as Hounds that are currently in the AFL.

Estrada's Kats will be back in action Saturday night as they take on the New York Dragons at 7 pm. Burt and the Predators take on Dallas Thursday night at 8:30 pm, while Jose and the Crush are slated for a 9:30 pm tilt on Saturday against Arizona.
