
ESPN Signs Media Rights Agreement with National Women' S Soccer League

HOUSTON - ESPN and the National Women's Soccer League (NWSL) announced an agreement to televise 14 league matches during the 2019 season, the league announced today.
Three Houston Dash matches will be aired on ESPNEWS and ESPN 2, beginning Friday, Aug. 2 when the Dash host Reign FC at 6 p.m. CDT on ESPNEWS.
"NWSL is a global leader in women's professional soccer, with collectively the most talented players in the world. Together with the reach of ESPN's vast network, we have the opportunity to bring more games to a broader audience across the country and world," said NWSL President Amanda Duffy. "Even in the year leading up to the Women's World Cup, we have continued to experience tremendous growth through the support, engagement, and visibility from our fans."
NWSL telecasts will begin Sunday, July 14, at 3 p.m. ET on ESPNEWS, with a matchup of the Portland Thorns vs. Orlando Pride. Two of the games that will be broadcasted will be hosted by the Dash at BBVA Stadium against Reign FC on August 2 and the Washington Spirit on September 25. Houston will travel East to face the North Carolina Courage on September 17. All NWSL match telecasts on ESPN networks will stream live on the ESPN App.
