
ESPN Radio to broadcast Dragons games

The New York Dragons will have their radio broadcasts on 1050 ESPN Radio as a result of a partnership with the sports network.
"This is a significant upgrade for our Arena Football League broadcasts," said Dragons Senior VP Paul Lancey. "We are extremely proud to be affiliated with our friends at ESPN Radio. When you're working with ESPN, you know you're going to have a first-class broadcast and reach a huge audience."
The Dragons' first four games, beginning with the season opener against Dallas on Sunday, Feb. 6 at 1:00 pm, will be on ESPN's sister station, 1560 Radio Disney. In addition, 1050 ESPN Radio will have Dragons updates throughout the day on Feb. 6 during their Super Bowl previews.
Dragons games on March 6 (at Philadelphia), March 12 (vs. Georgia) and April 2 (vs. Chicago) will be on 1050 ESPN Radio. Games on March 19 (at Austin) and March 26 (at Columbus) will be on Radio Disney. The remainder of the radio broadcast schedule will be available at a later date. Peter Schwartz returns for his fourth season as the Dragons' radio play-by-play announcer. He will be joined by color commentator Wayne Morris, a frequent contributor to Dragons radio and television broadcasts since the franchise's first season. Morris was a WR/DB for the AFL New York CityHawks and Connecticut Coyotes and was an outstanding receiver at Hofstra University. He was also an assistant coach with the New Haven Ninjas of af2. Morris is a contributor to Sporting News Radio and writes an NFL column, "The War Room," for the Sporting News website.
The Dragons kick off their the 2005 season at home on Super Bowl Sunday, February 6, 2005, at 1:00 pm against the Dallas Desperados.
