Erie Storm Honors Erie's Winning Women's Teams

ERIE, PA (April 22, 2010) - The Erie Storm, Erie's professional indoor football team, will honor the local women's winning sports teams at the Sunday April 25th game. Teams to be honored include Gannon Women's Basketball team the Lady Knights who ended their season with a history-making 37-1 record, Mercyhurst College Lakers Ice Hockey team 2010 Frozen Four finalists, and Villa Maria High School Basketball team, 2010 AA Girls Basketball State Champions. A proclamation from the City of Erie will be presented as part of the festivities.

According to Bill Stafford, ownership group spokesperson, "We are very proud of the athletic talent in our area and want to honor the outstanding women athletes at this Sunday's game to demonstrate our support and commitment with the community! The lessons these young women learn through athletics - discipline, work ethic and teamwork - will serve them well in life. We invite the community to join in the celebration with us and recognize their achievements."

All students will receive a $3 ticket price for Sunday's 2 p.m. game against the Reading Express.
