----- Tonight, the SeaWolves look to avoid equaling their longest losing streak of the season as they take on the Akron Aeros (Cleveland Indians) in the middle game of a three-game series at Jerry Uht Park...Last night, the Aeros jumped out to a 5-1 lead after the first inning and went on to give Erie its fourth straight loss by a count of 9-2. The loss dropped the SeaWolves to nine games behind the first place Aeros and the club is now 4.5 games behind second place Harrisburg...Tonight, James Avery takes the mound for the SeaWolves making his 17th start of the season and third against the Aeros. Avery is 0-2 in two starts against the Aeros. Avery won his ninth game in his last start against Harrisburg on June 30. In the game, he allowed seven runs on 13 hits with no walks and six strikeouts in seven innings of work. Erie won the game 13-9. He has allowed 15 runs over his last two starts against Binghamton and Harrisburg...Lefty T.J. House takes the mound for Akron making his 12th start and second against the SeaWolves. House beat Erie on May 8 tossing six shutout innings with a pair of walks and seven strikeouts. House has taken no-decisions in his last two starts. In his last outing against Richmond, House allowed four runs on eight hits with a walk and four strikeouts in six innings of work. He is 1-1 with a 7.27 ERA in four road starts... The SeaWolves will wear special Stars and Stripes Caps during the entire Akron series. The caps will be autographed and auctioned off with proceeds benefitting veterans charities.
