(Erie, PA)-The Erie Explosion got back on the winning track on Sunday by dominating the Bluegrass Warhorses 84-12 in-front of a crowd of 2,902 at the Erie Insurance Arena. The Explosion defense was dominant in forcing five turnovers and holding the Lexington offense to 170 total yards of offense. Maurice Jones had a first half interception which he returned 16 yards for an Erie score, and linebacker Denayne Dixon an Edinboro University product forced a key first half fumble. Zach Williams and Tim Green each added a sack for the Explosion and forced a safety in the games final moments. The Explosion defensive line caused constant pressure that allowed the Erie secondary to hold the Warhorses to 70 yards passing on 25 attempts.

"This was a great team win today. We needed this to get back on track and get focused for our run towards our goal of winning the 2014 CIFL Championship. Our defense flew around today and made plays creating several turnovers and opportunities for our offense to get on a roll early. Richard Stokes had a special performance today and it was a fun experience to win an indoor football game without attempting a pass. It is a credit to the unselfishness of our wide receivers, quarterbacks, and a dominating performance by our offensive line. Our crowd was electric today and it was great to put on a show like this for the best fans in professional indoor football," commented Erie Head Coach Shawn Liotta.

The Explosion will travel to face the Port Huron Patriots in Port Huron, Michigan on Saturday March 22 nd with kickoff scheduled for 7:00pm. This CIFL north division game will be broadcast on midstatesports.net. For more information on the Erie Explosion please visit www.erieexplosion.com.
