
Energy FC Advances in USL Playoffs; Faces Vancouver in Next Round

EDINBURG, TEXAS - Energy FC forward Colin Bonner scored two stoppage time goals to give Energy FC a 3-2 win in their USL Quarterfinal playoff match over Rio Grande Valley Toros FC at Toro Stadium in Edinburg, Texas.
The win allows Energy FC to advance to the Western Conference Semifinals of the USL Playoffs for the second straight season. They take on the #6 seed Vancouver Whitecaps FC 2 on Saturday, October 8 at 2 p.m. (ct) from Thunderbird Stadium on the campus of the University of British Columbia in Vancouver, B.C.
Vancouver Whitecaps FC 2 defeated the #3 seed Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC 2-1 in their quarterfinal matchup. Vancouver finished the regular season with a record of 12-9-9. This season, Energy FC played Vancouver twice and posted a 0-1-1 mark.
The winner of the Energy FC / Vancouver Whitecaps FC 2 match next Saturday takes on the winner of the #4 seed Swope Park Rangers / #8 seed Orange County Blues match. The Western Conference Finals will be played the weekend of October 14 - 16.
