Freshman left hander Logan Salow and red shirt sophomore Blake Oyler join the Pioneers for the 2014 season from the Wildcats, who are members of the SEC and currently ranked 17th in the Nation for Division I baseball.
Logan Salow hails from Ashland, KY where he was instrumental in leading Paul Blazer High School to a district and regional championship in 2013. He was also recently named SEC Pitcher of the Week for his efforts from Sunday April 13th through Sunday April 20th. "Logan is a crafty left handed pitcher who will be an impact player in the PGCBL" stated Pioneers Manager Matt Burch.
Blake Oyler hails from Louisville, KY and was ranked as the 17th best high school player in Kentucky his senior year. Oyler finished the 2012 season with a 9-3 record and a 2.10 ERA to go along with 52 strikeouts for Louisville Male High School. Before transferring to Kentucky, Oyler played at Transylvania University where he appeared in nine games going 1-2 with a 2.72 ERA over 36 innings of work. Oyler does have summer collegiate league experience as he played in the Great Lakes Collegiate League last summer for the Lexington Hustlers.
