Elks Split Squad Falls 5-2

The Bend Elks looked to be in control to defeat the Redding Colt .45's on Sunday at Vince Genna Stadium as they held a 2-1 lead with 2 outs in the top of the 9th inning, but 4 Elks errors with 2 outs in the 9th, allowing Redding to walk away with a 5-2 victory.

The Elks Split Squad got a quality outing of starter Dillon Keene, who pitched 7 innings, giving up 1run on 5 hits, walking 1 and striking out 7 in receiving a no-decision on the evening.

Offensively for the Elks Split-Squad, Jake Azevedo went 2-4, Zane Yanzick went 1-4 with an RBI Double, and recent Summit High Grad Konner Reddick went 1-3 with an RBI single for the Elks Split Squad in front of 1,193 Elks fans on Sunday.

There will be a Double Header on Monday beginning at 1 p.m. as the Split Squad will play the 2nd of a 2 game series against the Colt .45's, followed by the Bend Elks against the Kelowna Falcons in the 1st of a 3 game series, first pitch at 6:35 p.m.
