Elks Open 2013 Season with 4-1 victory over Walla Walla Sweets

Justin Bohn delivered a 2 run triple in the top of the 9th inning to secure victory for the Bend Elks as they took the first game of the 2013 season from the Walla Walla Sweets by a score of 4-1.
Bohn and Derek Dixon each were 2-4 at the plate with 2 RBI in addition to playing solid defense, including a 3-6-3 double play in the bottom of the 9th to help secure victory.
Taylor Elman got the victory in his Elks debut, going 5 innings, giving up 1 run on 2 hits while striking out 8. He was followed by Collin Nilson, Justin Huckins, and Michael Jordan, who combined to go the final 4 innings without surrendering a run.
Seth Spivey, Turner Gill, Kyle Giusti, and Curtis Wildung each added a hit and run for the Elks in the game, helping the Elks win their 2013 regular season opener.
The Elks are back in action on Thursday in Game 2 of the 3 game series against the Sweets, first pitch set for 7:05.
