Elks Offense Topples Gems

Brock Carpenter and Billy King each tallied three RBIs as Bend scored in every inning but two in a 10-3 victory over Klamath Falls in the opening game of the three-game series between the South Division rivals in the West Coast League Monday evening at Vince Genna Stadium.
Elks starter JT Kaul earned the victory, surrendering two runs and scattering six hits in four innings of work. Former Summit High standout Kevin Hamann pitched four solid innings for Bend.
Nick Lopez led the Elks' 15-hit attack with four singles, three runs scored and a stolen base.
The two Oregon WCL entries square off in game two on Two Dollar Tuesday at Vince Genna Stadium. First pitch is scheduled for 6:35 pm.
