NEW YORK â The Arena Football League and the Elias Sports Bureau, the world's premier statistical company, have entered into an agreement for Elias to become the Official Statistician of the AFL.
According to terms of the three-year agreement, beginning with the 2004 season, Elias will host the AFL's statistics, distribute statistical reports and will provide state-of-the-art research capabilities.
"The AFL is a proven product and one of the fastest-growing sports leagues in the country," said SEYMOUR SIWOFF, President of Elias Sports Bureau. "We are excited to be a part of that growth and to lend our expertise to the AFL's statistical needs."
In addition to traditional statistical functions, Elias's statistics will be the foundation for the AFL's Fantasy Football game, hosted by SandBoxx.
"We are thrilled to be working with the best statistical company in the world," said CHRIS MC CLOSKEY, AFL Senior Vice President of Communications. "Fantasy football is a major initiative for us this year and statistics are the backbone of fantasy football. Fantasy players can rest assured that with Elias hosting the AFL's statistics, the AFL fantasy game will be as accurate, timely and credible as any in sports."
