DURHAM, N.C. – Eleven former Northern League umpires are working for National Association leagues this spring. The list includes six former East Division umpires and five former Central Division umpires.

Scott Packard returns for another season at Triple-A and Scott Hepinstall for another at Double-A. Joining Hepinstall for their first seasons in Double-A are former Central Division umpires Rusty Griffin and John Woods. Ryan Drake also received a promotion from the Rookie-level Gulf Coast League to the Single-A South Atlantic League.

"It's great to see our umpires getting an opportunity to pursue their careers in the minor leagues like our players do," Northern League umpire supervisor Butch Fisher said. "I wish them all the luck and will follow them through their careers."
