Miami, FL (January 12, 2011). The El Nuevo Herald Copa Latina Tournament Committee selected the 32 teams for this year's tournament this afternoon.

The top two teams from last month's Copa Latina Qualifying Tournament, Universitario and Unity-Jamaica, automatically qualified as did last year's Copa Latina champion, Honduras 5 Estrellas. The rest of the teams were selected from the more than 75 applications that were submitted.

"This year's tournament, the nineteenth anniversary of the Copa Latina, promises to be bigger and better than ever," said Tom Mulroy, president of Se Habla Futbol, the organization that runs the tournament. "These teams are all high-level teams, meaning the tournament will be very exciting."

El Nuevo Herald Copa Latina is America's most prestigious amateur soccer tournament, representing nearly 20 countries from Latin America and the Caribbean. Kickoff for Copa Latina 2011 is Saturday, February 12, 2011 at 8 p.m., with opening ceremonies starting at 7 p.m. All games will be played at Ted Hendricks Stadium (Milander Park) in Hialeah.
