Edge to Play Lehigh Valley Saturday at Home

Bloomington, IL, 3/22/12 - The Bloomington Edge, presented by Heller Stores, will play the Lehigh Valley Steelhawks at home Saturday night at 7:35 pm. The Edge are 3-1 on the season while the Steelhawks are 2-2. The two teams played at Lehigh Valley back on March 11 when the Edge won 57-39. This is the final meeting between these two in the regular season.
The Edge did not play last week but were at Lehigh Valley two weeks ago on March 11. The Edge won the game 57-39. Both teams scored once in the 1st quarter but then the Edge exploded for five straight scores in the 2nd. Again in the 3rd each team only scored once but in the 4th the Edge scored three times with the Steelhawks only scoring twice. Dusty Burk threw for 289 yards and had 6 passing touchdowns. Andre Raymond rushed 13 yards and a touchdown. Ricardo Lenhart led the receivers with 8 receptions for 89 yards and 2 touchdowns. Charles Dowdell had 81 receiving yards with a touchdown and John Cooper had 63 receiving yards with 2 touchdowns.
While the Edge were off last week the Steelhawks beat the Reading Express at home 86-53 last Saturday. Lehigh Valley exploded with a 34-0 1st quarter and added going to halftime with a 47-27 lead.
They padded the lead in the 3rd outscoring Reading 23-7. The 4th was 19-16 in favor of Reading but the game was already decided at that point. Bryan Randall threw for 213 yards on 10 completions with 5 touchdown passes. He also ran for 2 touchdowns. Ryan Leafey rushed for 78 yards and 2 touchdowns. Jeff Willis had 98 receiving yards and 3 touchdowns while Aaron Higdon had 96receiving yards and 2 touchdowns.
The Edge are on the road next week as they travel to Chicago to take on the Slaughter. The two will play their third meeting of four on Saturday March 31 at 7:05 pm.
