St. John's, NL - The St. John's Edge announced today that the club has signed Washington, D.C. native Obinna Oleka for the 2018-19 season.
Oleka, 6-foot-8, 225 pounds is a graduate of Arizona State University (NCAA Div.1), where he competed for his junior and senior seasons (2016-2017 Senior). Upon graduating, Oleka signed a professional contract with Enel Brindisi, of the Lega A in Italy. During his senior year with the Sun Devils, in 32 games, he averaged 12.45 points, 9.91 rebounds, and 32.8 minutes. He shot .430 (141-for-328) from the field and .719 (105-for-146) from the charity stripe.
Obinna Oleka brings a strong inside presence to the team and has an innate athletic ability that will be a good addition for the Edge.
