Bloomington, IL - The Bloomington Edge, presented by Heller Stores, have signed defensive lineman Antonia Ficklin. Ficklin, also known by teammates as "Hollywood," had been with the Allen Wranglers of the IFL, but left to come back to Bloomington.

Ficklin, who is originally from Louisiana, has spent 2009 and 2011 with the Bloomington Extreme. Last season he won Defensive Player of the Year recording 38 tackles, 14.5 sacks, and 4 forced fumbles. In 2009 Ficklin had 42 tackles, 9 sacks, and 2 forced fumbles. He sat out the 2010 season with a knee injury.

Before his IFL career, Ficklin was a fullback with the San Francisco 49ers and the Detroit Lions of the NFL, as well as the Calgary Stampeders of the Canadian Football League.

In college, Ficklin attended San Jose State University, where he recorded 122 tackles, 12 sacks, 3 fumble recoveries, one interception, and one defensive touchdown. As a junior, he was named First-Team All-WAC.

During his time in Bloomington/Normal, Ficklin has become a big member of the community. He volunteers with several under-privileged youth organizations. He is a volunteer youth football coach.
