St. John's, NL - The St. John's Edge (19-11) started off a six-game homestand at Mile One Centre with a victory over the KW Titans (5-25) 113-107 Friday night. Anthony Stover debuted for the Edge by contributing 4 points, 4 rebounds and 2 assists in his first NBL Canada game in over a month.
Player Performance
St. John's Edge:
Charles Hinkle led the Edge with 21 points and 2 rebounds. Carl English put up 20 points, 3 rebounds and 7 assists as he continues to pour on the offense for the Edge. Coron Williams was the Legend City Player of the Game as he came up clutch with some critical plays in the third quarter and finished with 12 points, 1 rebound and 2 assists.
KW Titans:
The Titans were led by Dereck Hall and his double-double of 28 points, 18 rebounds and 2 assists. Justin Hurtt chipped in with 20 points of his own in the loss. The Titans came out of the gate and lead by as much as 9 points in the first quarter before the Edge took control for the rest of the game.
Inside the Numbers:
St. John's went 38-for-81(46.9 percent) from field-goal territory while hitting 17-for-20 (85 percent) of their free throws.
The Titans went 42-for-77 (54.5 percent) from field-goal territory while getting 60 points from the paint.
