ECHL Has Seven Of Top 10 Minor League Venues

June 12, 2008 - ECHL (ECHL) News Release

BOCA RATON, Fla. - In an online poll conducted by MLN Sports for its current issue of the digital magazine SZ, the ECHL was the only professional hockey league represented finishing with seven of the Top 10 venues led by The Arena at Gwinnett Center, home of the Gwinnett Gladiators, which finished third.

There were more than 11,700 votes cast for the venues of more than 800 teams in baseball, basketball, football, hockey and lacrosse. Fans were allowed only one vote from an IP address and votes from club office IP addresses were discarded so the rankings were totally fan driven.

The Nutter Center, home of the Dayton Bombers, was fourth while the Stockton Arena, home of the Stockton Thunder and host of the 2008 ECHL All-Star Game finished fifth and Germain Arena, home of the Florida Everblades, was sixth.

Rabobank Arena, home of the Bakersfield Condors, finished seventh followed by the Sovereign Center, home of the Reading Royals and host of the 2009 ECHL All-Star Game. The Orleans Arena, home of the Las Vegas Wranglers, rounded out the Top 10 while Whataburger Field in Corpus Christi, Texas and Round Rock Diamond in Round Rock, Texas finished first and second in the voting.

MLN Sports provides coverage of more than 700 professional teams and 38 professional leagues in hockey, baseball, basketball and football through the magazine at MLNSportsZone.com and the first national RSS newswire, MLN - The Raw Feed at MLNTheRawFeed.com.
