ECHL Arenas Host NHL Preseason Games

PRINCETON, N.J. – ECHL fans will have the opportunity to experience the National Hockey League as Bakersfield, Florida, Trenton and Wheeling host NHL preseason games.

The NHL parent organization of the Wheeling Nailers, the Pittsburgh Penguins will face off against the New York Islanders at 7 p.m. ET on Friday at the Wheeling Civic Center. The Islanders held the first week of their training camp at the Wheeling Civic Center, arriving on September 12.

The NHL parent organization of the Florida Everblades, the Carolina Hurricanes will host the Atlanta Thrashers at 7:30 p.m. ET on Saturday at TECO Arena in Estero, Florida. The Hurricanes were scheduled to begin practicing at TECO Arena on Thursday and will remain in Estero until Monday. The Thrashers have an affiliation with the Gwinnett Gladiators.

Bakersfield Centennial Garden will host the Los Angeles Kings and the San Jose Sharks on Sunday at 8 p.m. PT. The Sharks have affiliations with both the Johnstown Chiefs and the Fresno Falcons of the ECHL while Los Angeles has an affiliation with the Reading Royals.

The NHL parent organization of the Trenton Titans, the Philadelphia Flyers will host the Stanley Cup-champion New Jersey Devils on Tuesday at 7 p.m. at the Sovereign Bank Arena in Trenton.
