Danny, who was a Carolina League All-Star after hitting .264 with 18 home runs and 90 runs scored with the Potomac Nationals last year, was selected by the Washington Nationals in the third round of the 2008 draft after batting .303 over 168 career games at Long Beach State University.

Brooks Brown, a right-handed starting pitcher for the Erie SeaWolves, is the Eastern League Pitcher of the Week for the week ending June 20th. The 6'3", 210 lb. hurler started one game for the SeaWolves last week and posted a record of 1-0 with five strikeouts and a 1.00 ERA. Brown, who is a native of Statesboro, Georgia, made his lone appearance of the week on Thursday night at Portland and earned his fourth win of the season by pitching a complete game in Erie's 5-1 victory over the Sea Dogs. He struck out five batters while allowing just one run on five hits and one walk. Brown, who turned 25 years old on Sunday, has put together a record of 2-3 with 21 strikeouts and a 3.72 ERA in five games since moving from the Erie bullpen to the starting rotation on May 16th. Brooks, who started the 2009 season with the SeaWolves and had a record of 5-0 with a 2.21 ERA before a promotion to Triple-A, was acquired by the Detroit Tigers in a trade with the Arizona Diamondbacks as compensation for retaining Rule 5 selection James Skelton on April 2, 2009. Brown was originally selected by the Diamondbacks in the supplemental first round of the 2006 draft after going 8-4 with a 4.07 ERA 19 appearances during his junior season at the University of Georgia.
