 East Kentucky Energy News Release
Pikeville, KY. The Energy just keeps building and building. When given the opportunity to return home and be a part of professional basketball in the mountains, John Kitchen wanted to do his part to build something special for Pikeville and the mountains of Eastern Kentucky, wrote Randy White of the Appalachian News-Express. Kitchen was introduced as Vice President of Marketing and Player Development for the ABA East Kentucky Energy this week. "John Kitchen has been successful in every walk of life, from his career as a basketball player to coaching basketball and tennis at Pikeville College to his current career in sales," said Energy co-founder Jerry Boggs. "Surrounding ourselves with quality, successful people like John will ensure the success of the Energy."
Kitchen's role with the team will include scouting players, evaluating talent, organizing tryouts and developing partnerships with the local business community. "John's talents are well-know in this community and all over the state," added Boggs. "He knows basketball and he knows sales and we're excited to get an opportunity to put those skill sets to work building the energy into a team that all of Kentucky can root for.
