SAN JOSE, Calif. - The San Jose Earthquakes fell to the Portland Timbers 2-1 on Saturday at Providence Park after playing to a 1-1 home draw against Spain's RC Celta de Vigo in an international friendly on Wednesday at PayPal Park.

The Earthquakes will now prepare to host Real Salt Lake on Saturday, July 30, presented by Coca-Cola. The match will kick off from PayPal Park at 7 p.m. PT and will be broadcast live on NBC Sports California, KNBR 1050 (English), and 1370 KZSF (Spanish).

Earthquakes to Celebrate Women's Soccer Appreciation Night on July 30

The San Jose Earthquakes announced last Thursday that the club will host a Women's Soccer Celebration on Saturday, July 30 when the Quakes host Real Salt Lake, presented by Coca-Cola. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. Before the match, a Women's Leadership Panel will be held at the Element Hotel across the street from PayPal Park featuring five influential females. The Quakes will also host a Women's Resource Fair in the PayPal Park Epicenter and will sell t-shirts designed by Houyee Chow, a local female artist, with proceeds benefitting Next Door Solutions to Domestic Violence, Planned Parenthood Mar Monte, and The Brigid Alliance. The match will also feature U.S. Women's National Team legends Brandi Chastain and Aly Wagner kicking the ceremonial first goal pregame and a celebration of local collegiate women's soccer teams at halftime. Discounted tickets to the July 30 match, which includes access to the pregame Women's Leadership Panel, are available.

PayPal Park held the 2016 MLS All-Star Game against English Premier League side Arsenal FC on July 28, 2016. Then-Quakes players Chris Wondolowski and David Bingham featured in the match.

EARTHQUAKES II UPDATE

Earthquakes II defeated Timbers2 2-1 last Friday at Providence Park in Portland, Ore. Quakes II are now 5-1-1 in their last seven matches.
