SAN JOSE, Calif. - The San Jose Earthquakes and Austin FC played to a 2-2 draw on Saturday afternoon at PayPal Park. Eighteen-year-old Cade Cowell, who scored a late equalizer for San Jose, was selected to the MLS Team of the Week.

The Earthquakes are now preparing to visit Houston Dynamo FC on Saturday, April 9. Kickoff from PNC Stadium is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. PT and the match will be broadcast on NBC Sports Bay Area Plus, KNBR 1050, and 1370 KZSF.

Earthquakes Announce Partnership with Kaiser Permanente

The San Jose Earthquakes announced last Friday a partnership with Kaiser Permanente. The partnership will unite both organizations as they strive to improve health and wellness among youth in underserved communities across the Bay Area. Both organizations will also debut the THRIVE court, a new mini-pitch adjacent to the Epicenter that will provide accessible space for year-round youth soccer activities and serve as a gathering place for the local community.

Earthquakes Celebrate Women's History Month with Health and Wellness Initiatives

The Earthquakes are celebrating Women's History Month with health and wellness initiatives aimed at providing free menstrual products to women. The Quakes have partnered with Aunt Flow , a woman-owned business dedicated to ensuring everyone has access to cost-free menstrual products. Additionally, the Quakes Foundation held a clothing and feminine hygiene product drive benefitting PATH (People Assisting the Homeless) and HomeFirst Services. The Quakes Foundation received donations of 700 pads, 550 tampons and 350 additional toiletry items, which will be distributed to the two organizations.

PayPal Park to host Premier Rugby Sevens Competition on July 9

PayPal Park, home of the San Jose Earthquakes, will host Premier Rugby Sevens (PR7s), a world-class international rugby competition, on Saturday, July 9. San Jose will be one of three host cities for the Premier Rugby Sevens' inaugural season in 2022, and the first event to kick off the tournament. Tickets will be available to the general public on Tuesday, April 5 at 10 a.m. PT.

April 5, 2021 - Earthquakes, PayPal Park Agree to Historic 10-Year Stadium Naming Rights Partnership

The San Jose Earthquakes and PayPal Holdings Inc. announced a multi-year sponsorship agreement on April 5, 2021 that includes naming rights for the Major League Soccer (MLS) team's stadium located in San Jose, California, which is now called PayPal Park. The 10-year partnership is built to celebrate Quakes fans, the San Jose community, and local small businesses, and will reimagine the future of live event experiences for sports fans by leveraging PayPal's innovative payments technology.

April 6,1996 - The Clash defeats D.C. United in MLS Inaugural Game

The San Jose Clash defeated D.C. United 1-0 in the MLS Inaugural Game at Spartan Stadium before a crowd of 31,683. Forward Eric Wynalda scored a late goal in the 88th minute to secure the win for the Clash.

EARTHQUAKES II UPDATE

Earthquakes II made its debut in the inaugural MLS NEXT Pro season this past week, defeating Timbers2 (2-0) on Wednesday before falling to Houston Dynamo 2 (1-0) on Sunday.

ACADEMY UPDATE

Over the weekend, the Quakes Academy Boys' U13s (W 1-0) and U14s (W 6-0) defeated the San Francisco Glens, while the U15s (3-0) and U17s (4-3) fell to LAFC.

The Boys' U15s and U17s squads will now prepare to travel to Dallas, Texas where they will compete in the 2022 Generation adidas Cup at the Toyota Soccer Center in Frisco, Texas from April 9-17. The elite youth tournament will feature MLS and professional club academies from around the globe, including 80 professional academies from 10 countries across four continents.
