SAN JOSE, Calif. - The San Jose Earthquakes announced today that the club has acquired goalkeeper Mikołaj Biegański from Polish side Wisła Kraków on loan through the 2024 season with an option for a permanent transfer, pending the receipt of his International Transfer Certificate (ITC) and P-1 Visa.
"We're excited to add a young player like Mikołaj, who completes a quality goalkeeping corps," said Earthquakes general manager Chris Leitch. "He's a talented keeper with European first-division and youth international experience, so we're looking forward to seeing him compete at this level."
Biegański, 21, made 54 career appearances for Wisła Kraków, including 19 starts in the Ekstraklasa, the Polish first division. The goalkeeper first represented hometown clubs Raków Częstochowa and Skra Częstochowa at the youth level before signing his initial professional contract with the latter in 2017. Biegański made his pro debut at just 15 years old and spent five seasons with Skra Częstochowa prior to joining Wisła Kraków in 2021.
Internationally, Biegański currently represents Poland's Under-21 youth national team, and has earned 13 youth caps across the U-16, U-17, and U-20 levels.
