
Early lead not enough for the Bristol Blues, drop 5-1 decision to the Pittsfield Suns

The Bristol Blues (10-9) built an early edge on Friday, but the Pittsfield Suns (10-9) roared back to steal a 5-1 victory at Wahconah Park. The Pittsfield Suns took the lead in the seventh inning on an RBI single by Colin Ridley. Jamin McCann racked up seven strikeouts in the the Pittsfield Suns win. McCann allowed one earned run, four hits and one walk over seven innings. Paul Versteeg was effective even in defeat, mowing down five the Pittsfield Suns batters and allowing one run. Sam Spadafore ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his first loss of the year. He lasted just zero innings, walked none, struck out none, and allowed two runs.
