Soo Eagles net minder, Landon Trutt stopped all 28 shots he faced, and Nick Belger had a pair of goals, as the Eagles skated past the Johnstown Tomahawks, 3-0, on Friday night at Pullar Stadium.
The Eagles wore their specialized pink jerseys, in honor of Pink in the Rink weekend, where the game-worn jerseys will be up for auction all weekend long.
The Eagles started their scoring in the first period, as Bruno Birzitis scored at the 1:37 mark, with an assists from Kristofers Bindulis and Scott Cuthrell, to make the score 1-0 Eagles after one period of play.
Nick Belger scored his first goal of the night in the second period, at the 4:38 mark with assists from Matt Menta and Mike Sabatini, to make the score 2-0 Eagles after two.
Belger would score his final tally of the game, at the 18:11 mark of the third, with assists from Sandis Zolmanis and Bruno Birzitis to salt the game away.
