
Eagles host Jets, as both teams fight for a playoff spot

After dropping five straight games on the road, the Soo Eagles will be very happy to be playing in the friendly confines of Pullar Stadium this weekend, when they host the Janesville Jets, for a single game on Friday at 7:30 p.m. Can't make it to the game? The Eagles and Jets are currently locked in a dogfight for the 4th and final playoff position in the North Division, along with the Springfield Jr. Blues. The Eagles and Jr. Blues both have 47 points and are tied for fourth place in the North Division, while Janesville has 45 points. The Jets have three games in hand on the Eagles, and two games in hand on Springfield. The Eagles will have 10 games remaining after this weekend's play.
The Eagles are led in scoring by Mike Sabatini, who has 14 goals and 16 assists this season. Sandis Zolmanis has 8 goals and 14 assists, while Ryan Urso is (4-15- 19) and Brad Pung is (5-14- 19).
The Jets are led in scoring by Jordan Himley, who has 16 goals and 21 assists this season. Former Soo Eagle, Robin Hoglund has 16 goals and 16 assists, while Adam Winborg is (14-17- 31).
Soo Eagles goaltender Nathan Klebe is 6-4-0-0 on the campaign, with a goals against average of 2.66 and a save percentage of .925. Paige Skoog is 4-7-0-1 with a GAA of 2.72 and a SV% of .919.
Brock Kautz is 9-13-1-1 in net for Janesville, with a goals against average of 3.12 and a save percentage of .911. Logan Halladay is 12-7-0-1, with a GAA of 2.54 and a SV% of .927.
This is the eighth and final meeting of the season between these two teams, with the Eagles winning five of the seven games played so far.
