
Eagles Garner One Point at First-Place Port Huron

The Soo Eagles managed one point last weekend, when they traveled to Port Huron, to take on the first-place Fighting Falcons. Here is a recap of the action.
Port Huron Fighting Falcons 3, Soo Eagles 0 - Friday, November 8, 2013
The Port Huron Fighting Falcons relied on the scoring touch of Zach Badalamenti, who netted two goals, to beat the Soo Eagles, 3-0.
Badalamenti found the back of the net 5:38 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Port Huron and again while 14:42 into the second to make the score 3-1 Port Huron.
Mitch Maloney also scored for Port Huron. More assists for Port Huron came via Logan Lambdin, who had two and Alex Archibald, Matt Jones, Vito Aluia, and Reed Scahill, who each chipped in one.
The Soo was led by AJ Jarosz, who took four shots.
The Fighting Falcons' Alex Blankenburg stopped 21 shots out of the 21 that he faced. Port Huron registered one goal on three power play opportunities. Skoog Paige made 38 saves for the Eagles on 41 shots. The Eagles incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
Port Huron Fighting Falcons 4, Soo Eagles 3 (OT) - Saturday, November 9, 2013
The Port Huron Fighting Falcons pulled out a 4-3 (OT) overtime victory over the Soo Eagles on a clutch goal by Noah Batis.
Port Huron nearly gave up a two-score lead. The Fighting Falcons made the score 3-1 on a power play goal by Zach Badalamenti at 5:45 in the third period. The Eagles got to within 3-2 on a power play goal by Darren Brady at 11:02 in the third period.
Port Huron also got points from Bryan Yim, who also tallied one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Port Huron also got a goal from Mitch Maloney as well. More assists for Port Huron came via Jonathan Kopacka, Alex Archibald, Austin Romzek, Matt Jones, Vito Aluia, Logan Lambdin, and Lucas Little, who each chipped in one.
The Soo additionally got points from Brad Pung, who also had one goal and one assist. Chase Matson also scored for Soo. In addition, Soo received assists from Dante Suffredini and Jacob McDowell, who contributed one a piece.
Max Milosek recorded 26 saves for Port Huron. The Fighting Falcons incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. Colin Brennan made 30 saves for the Eagles on 34 shots. Soo incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors.
