Houston Dynamo FC News Release
HOUSTON, TX (Thursday, May 28, 2009) - As part of the Houston Dynamo's Military Appreciation/Hometown Heroes Night this Saturday, May 30, Dynamo midfielder Brad Davis has started a group called Brad's Brigade to honor members of the armed forces.
Davis has been bringing military personnel and their families out to games throughout his career in Houston, but Brad's Brigade is an effort geared toward the May 30 game that gives Dynamo fans a chance to chip in. For just $20, fans can purchase a ticket for military members and their families to attend the May 30 game. Fans then receive a Brad's Brigade T-shirt and are invited to attend a reception with Davis and the members of the armed forces after Saturday's game.
The program began with a goal of 100 tickets, but the Dynamo have already had to open up another section to accommodate demand for the successful and popular offer, available online at HoustonDynamo.com/brigade or by calling (713) 276-7500.
"I'm honored to be a part of this event," Davis said. "Our service men and women put their lives on the line every day for us, and we get to enjoy the fruits of their labor. I appreciate them from the bottom of my heart, and I can't thank them enough for letting me do what I love to do, which is play soccer. I look forward to seeing everybody Saturday night."
The Houston Dynamo are a Major League Soccer franchise that has won two MLS Cup championships in its first three seasons and represented the United States in three consecutive regional championships. Currently on a six-game unbeaten streak, the Dynamo will close out their current two-game homestand on Saturday, May 30, against Toronto FC. Be sure to ask about the new Texas Children's Health Plan Family Section. For more information, please log on to www.HoustonDynamo.com or call (713) 276-7500.
