Dusters to conduct dance team tryouts

The Amarillo Dusters announced today the details for the first Duster Darlins Dance Team tryout for the 2008 af2 season.
The tryout will take place Saturday, September 15th at Gold's Gym on Blackburn in Amarillo. Registration begins in the Aerobics room at 12:00 noon. The tryout fee is $25.00, and is payable to via cash only.
Lacy Ratliffe, a 4-year member of the Duster Darlins, is the Dance Team Coordinator for 2008. She will conduct the camp and provide instruction. Prospective dancers will be required to perform their own 60 to 90 second routine in front of a panel of judges.
Prospective dancers must present themselves in the following manner:
1) Participants must be at least 18 years of age and provide proper i.d.
2) Provide a choreographed 60-90 second dance routine with music (cd only)
3) Sports bra or cropped-top that reveals the midsection
4) Hot pants, dance pants, sofe shorts, or volleyball shorts only
5) Jazz shoes, jazz sneakers, character shoes, or tennis shoes only
6) Hair must be worn down

All prospective dancers must be available to make public appearances with local media outlets at local businesses, schools, and events. The Duster Darlins not only provide exciting entertainment to fans throughout each home game, but they play an active role in the community through schools and with various charitable organizations throughout Amarillo.
