
Dusters Sign Julian Reese

AMARILLO, TEXAS- The Amarillo Dusters announce the assignment from the arena football 2 league office of Julian Reese to the 2008 Dusters roster. Reese played with the Dusters in 2004 and 2005.
"Julian is a very exciting addition to the roster," said head coach, Chris MacKeown. "He is already a part of this community and we are happy to have him back."
This will be Reese's fifth year in the af2 league.
In 2004, Reese helped lead the Dusters to an indoor football championship, under the direction of former Dusters head coach, Don Carthel.
In 2005, Reese was the starting quarterback for the Amarillo Dusters. Reese threw for 3525 yards with 65 touchdowns and only 11 interceptions for the season. Reese also rushed for 223 yards, scoring another 28 touchdowns. Reese received many Player of the Week honors and was also named to the 1st team af2 in 2005.
In 2006 and 2007, Reese was the played quarterback for the South Georgia Wildcats of af2. Reese played for the Wildcats in 2006 after spending time with the Everett Hawks of af2.
"I'm excited to be back in Amarillo playing for the home crowd," Reese said. "I still have lots of friends and family here, and I'm excited to play."
Reese attended college at Indiana State University where he graduated with a degree in Recreational Sports Management. Reese received numerous football awards including All-American Honorable Mention and New Comer of the Year in 2001.
Reese is from Fort Wayne, Indiana, and graduated from South Side High School. He now resides in Amarillo, and teaches at Hamlet Elementary School.
