Amarillo Venom News Release
AMARILLO, TEXAS The Amarillo Dusters introduce two faces to the organization, one old and one new. Coach Quinn Cairo will be continuing with the Dusters in his third season as the secondary coach. Coach Jarrod Rogol will join the Dusters coaching staff as the special teams coach.
"I am excited about our 2008 coaching staff," said Chris MacKeown, head coach for the Amarillo Dusters. "We have a great team in place to help players succeed and get to the next level."
Jarrod Rogol is the Dusters assistant director of player personnel as well as the offense assistant coach.
"I'm excited about this opportunity," Rogol said. "Coach MacKeown's commitment to winning and overall philosophies of the game match mine, which made coming to the Dusters an easy choice."
In 2006, Rogol coached the defensive backs for the River City Rage of the United Indoor Football league. In 2007, Rogol worked as a player development coordinator for the UIF league, signing Division I and Division II players. He also coached the special teams and running backs at Lutheran St. Charles High School in St. Peters, Missouri.
"He comes with experience and success in scouting and recruiting in professional football," MacKeown said. "Rogol has tremendous character and an exceptional work ethic that will fit well with our staff."
Rogol looks for talent wherever he can find it.
"If a guy can be coached and possesses athleticism and character, he will fit into our system," Rogol said.
Quinn Cairo is entering his third season with the Dusters coaching the secondary.
"Coach Cairo fits what we are looking for in terms of his character, work ethic, and knowledge of the game," MacKeown said, "as well as his willingness to grow."
Cairo grew up in Amarillo, attending high school at Palo Duro. In 1992, he played football at Cisco Junior College where he was an honorable mention Jr. College All-American. Cairo transferred in 1995, playing football at the University of Wisconsin then at Concordia University in 1996. In 1998, Cairo attended camp with the Minnesota Vikings. He attended camp with the Grand Rapids Rampage of the Arena Football League in 2000. Cairo joined the Dusters coaching staff in 2004.
"I enjoy the process of teaching," Cairo said. "Working with the Dusters gives me opportunities in the area of developing young talent as well as young men."
Catch Coach Rogol, Coach Cairo, and the rest of the Dusters at the season opener on April 5, 2008. Season tickets are on sale now. Call the box office at (806) 350-7277 or visit www.dustersfootball.com for more information.
