Dusters move up in the Coaches Poll for Week Five

AMARILLO, TEXAS The arena football 2 league office released the weekly Coaches Poll today, ranking the top 16 teams in the league. The Amarillo Dusters moved up six spots on the list after defeating the Bossier-Shreveport Battlewings.
This is the first time since 2006 that the Dusters have ranked in the Top 10. They are only two spots away from their highest ranking since being in the af2 of number five in Week 11 of 2005.
The Battlewings were ranked at number eight last week and dropped to 13 this week with their home loss to the Dusters. Tulsa is maintaining their stronghold on the top spot, ranking number one for the fifth straight week. The Dusters only loss this season is to the Talons.
The af2 Coaches Poll is voted on each week. The head coaches from each team choose the top 16 teams in the league by ranking them one through 16. Teams ranked first receive 16 points with the point value decreasing by one for each place below first. Total points determine the Top 16 list.
The af2 Coaches Poll is announced every Wednesday during the regular season. Coaches are not allowed to vote for their own team and the poll results have no bearing on postseason qualification.
The complete Top 16 is listed below. The number in parentheses indicates the number of first place votes the team received.
