Louisiana IceGators News Release

LAFAYETTE, LA (June 3, 2011) - There's been a huge buzz in the air about Former IceGator, Louis Dumont returning back to Lafayette as the new General Manager of the Louisiana IceGators, but it's more far reaching than that. It has brought excitement and interest in all sports to the Acadiana Area!

Dumont has been asked to throw the first pitch at the Cane Cutters baseball game this Sunday, June 5th at 7:00 p.m. The Cane Cutters will be playing the Alexandria Aces at Fabacher Field. "We are very excited that Dumont is back in Acadiana. It's good to have old friends come back and re-energize sports in general," stated Rudy Bourg with the Acadiana Cane Cutters. "We look forward to an ongoing relationship between both teams. Louis was a huge success for the IceGators in the past and will be the catalyst to bringing back the fun and excitement of sports in our area. I know Louis is a man of his word and cares deeply about the Acadiana region."

The Louisiana IceGators Organization formed a Community Service Program in February. It was specifically formed to ensure that community's needs would continue throughout the year, even during the off-season. Since its inception, it has been hugely successful.

"I am thrilled to have been invited and be a part of the Acadiana Cane Cutters game on Sunday. My philosophy is being engaged in sports of any type is a good thing for families to be involved with. The response to my return has been overwhelmingly positive, and I am truly touched by the region that I have loved for so long. Cajun Country is like nowhere else in the world, and I have been all over the country and Europe throughout my career."

Steve Dimmick with the Wild Salmon Bar and Grill will be bringing 200 of Louis Dumont's past trading cards to be autographed and given to fans at the game because of Dumont's appearance. "I know Acadiana is glad to have Dumont back, and so is the Acadiana Cane Cutters. Our fans will be thrilled to see Louis Dumont in person at our game on Sunday," stated Bourg.
