LANCASTER, Calif. - Matt Duffy extended his Cal League season-best hitting streak to 13 games with a bases clearing double in the seventh inning that ultimately gave the JetHawks a 3-2 win over the Inland Empire 66ers at The Hangar on Friday night.

In his third and final at-bat of the night, Duffy came to the plate with the bases loaded and one out with the JetHawks trailing 2-0.

Duffy lined an R.J. Alvarez (0-1) fastball off the right field fence to score all three runners. It was the only scoring play for the JetHawks in the game. The three RBIs matched Preston Tucker's league-lead at 20.

The one-run lead was enough for Mike Fotlynewicz (1-0). The piggy-back starter retired the side in order in each the eighth and ninth innings to pick up his first win of the season. Foltynewicz allowed two hits and no runs over four innings. He struck out six and did not issue a walk.

Starter Blair Walters gave up runs in each the first and second innings but settled down to end up with a solid start.

In the first, Eric Stamets tripled with one out and scored on a Zach Johnson error. The next batter grounded into a double play and the run was unearned.

Inland Empire first baseman Michael Snyder led off the second inning with a solo home run.

Walters allowed three hits over five innings of work. He struck out five and walked one.

Nolan Fontana reached base in each of his four plate appearances on the night and continued to push his on-base percentage north of .500. He went 2-for-2 with two walks and a stolen base.

Telvin Nash also continued his hot start. Starting as designated hitter for the first time, Nash went 2-for-4.

The JetHawks (14-7) take on the 66ers (11-11) in game two of the series on Saturday night at The Hangar. First pitch is at 7:00 pm. Chris Devenski (2-1, 3.60) will start and Brady Rodgers (1-1, 4.71) will be the tandem starter. Left-hander Kramer Sneed (1-1, 3.18) is scheduled to pitch for the 66ers.

The first 1,000 fans in attendance will receive a JetHawks sleeved blanket presented by LoanMart.
