(Central Islip, N.Y.) - The Long Island Ducks defeated the Southern Maryland Blue Crabs on Saturday 6-2 before a past-capacity crowd of 6,126 at Citibank Park.

Long Island didn't waste anytime as they plated three runs in the home half of the first inning off Crabs' starter Byron Batson (2-4). Four base hits including Victor Rodriguez' two-run double helped the Flock open up a 3-0 lead. Preston Wilson's RBI sacrifice fly in the second scored Kyle Reynolds, who led off the inning with a single and the Ducks had a 4-0 advantage.

In the third, a walk and two singles helped Southern Maryland get on the board off Ducks' starter Julio Manon to cut the Ducks' lead to 4-1.

The Ducks got the run right back in the home half of the fourth frame as Ray Navarrete's RBI single plated Reynolds, who doubled to start the inning. John Pachot's RBI sacrifice fly in the fifth scored Estee Harris and the Ducks had their largest lead, 6-1.

In the seventh, Liu Rodriguez' RBI single cut the lead to 6-2, but that was it as Manon (5-1) fired a complete game, yielding eight hits and two runs, while striking out 11.
