GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - The Grand Rapids Drive, the Official NBA G League Affiliate of the Detroit Pistons, acquired Orlando Sanchez from the Available Player Pool Monday morning. Sanchez will be the 17th
player attending the Drive's 2018 Training Camp.
The St. John's product averaged 7.4 points, 5.6 rebounds, 1.4 steals and 1.1 blocks per game during the 2013-14 season. After going undrafted in 2014, Sanchez signed with the New York Knicks and was waived after playing in one pre-season game. The 6'9 forward was then acquired by the Westchester Knicks as an Affiliate Player and competed in 33 games during the 2014-15 G League season. Sanchez averaged 9.1 points and 6.3 rebounds with Westchester before returning to the Dominican Republic in February of 2015.
