Wichita, Kan. - Stealth offensive specialist Michael Dritlein was named the Professional Athlete of the Year by the Greater Wichita Area Sports Commission for his performance this season with the Wichita Stealth.

Dritlein was leading the af2 in scoring, touchdowns, and all-purpose yards when he tore his ACL in a game against the Green Bay Blizzard on May 31st.

"I would like to thank the Sports Commission for this honor," said Dritlein. "I also appreciate everything that the Wichita Stealth and arenafootball2 has done for me this season." This marks the first time that a Stealth player has been awarded the Pro Athlete of the Year award.

Dritlein was on pace to break several Stealth records this season. His point total of 152 gives him the second best single season point total in Stealth history and his 25 touchdowns was second best as well. Both totals were behind former Stealth offensive specialist Pascal Volz's 2001 season.

STEALTH NOTES: The Stealth return home this weekend to take on the San Diego Riptide. Kick-off is set for 7:30 p.m. on Saturday June 28th...Tickets are available by calling the Stealth office at 316.755.3307.
