Tulsa Drillers News Release

MIDLAND, TX - The Tulsa Drillers out-hit the Midland RockHounds 9-6 Sunday afternoon at Security Bank Ballpark. However, the RockHounds led in the most important column of the scoreboard, posting a 4-1 win over the Drillers. The loss leaves Tulsa with a 2-3 record through five games of its road trip to Texas.

Most of the RockHounds offensive production came in the first inning against Tulsa starting pitcher Justin De Fratus. De Fratus walked the first two batters before Nate Mondou singled to load the bases. Edwin Diaz followed with a double that scored the first two runs of the game. Mondou scored on an infield ground out by Dan Gamache to make it 3-0.

The only run of the game for the Drillers came in the top of the fifth inning. Three straight singles to open the inning from Drew Avans, Cristian Santana and Zach McKinstry loaded the bases. After Omar Estevez went down on strikes, Errol Robinson brought Avans home with a sacrifice fly.

Midland tacked on its fourth run in the eighth when Mondou doubled and scored on a base hit by Gamache.
