Beaumont Drillers News Release


BEAUMONT - The Beaumont Drillers (4-1), winners of four straight - three on the road, will practice inside Ford Arena this Thursday April 14 at 7 p.m.

The Drillers will host the Cincinnati Marshals (1-2) April 16 at 7:05 p.m., their first home game since March 13.

*TICKET PROMOTIONS*

At the Ford Park Box Office only, ticket goers can buy one (1) Value Seat and get the second one free. All Lamar students from the Beaumont, Port Arthur, Orange and LIT campuses can show their student id at the FP Box Office and receive $2 off any ticket.

All fans are also encouraged to bring a stuffed animal to the game to participate in the "Bearing the Burden" program for Buckner. At halftime, fans will throw stuffed animals onto the field. The stuffed animals will then be given to Buckner's Children & Family Services. Buckner will deliver the stuffed animals to children they serve and share them with other agencies. April is National Child Abuse Prevention Month.

*QUICK LOOK*

Drillers will look to win a franchise best fifth consecutive game this weekend.

Drillers defeated Cincy 36-24 on March 26 in front of 6,751 fans at US Bank Arena.

*FRIDAY NIGHT TAILGATE PARTY*

This Friday night, fans are invited to attend a tailgate party at Wings to Go (4275 Dowlen Rd) in Beaumont from 7-9pm. Driller players along with coaches and the Driller Girls will be on hand. Fans can also register to win an authentic autographed game day jersey, football, plus game and suite tickets to watch the Drillers take on Cincinnati.

*INJURY REPORT*

WR Chad Luttrull - out 6-8 weeks with a strained tendon in the bottom of his foot suffered in the Dayton game on April 2.

RB Anthony Johnson - out 1-2 weeks with a shoulder injury.

QB Marc Saldana - will return to the practice field next week. Out since March 7 with a hairline fracture in his right ankle.

*INSIDE THE NUMBERS*

Drillers are 4-0 without Marc Saldana in the lineup.

Randy Chappell is 2nd in the NIFL in tackles with 33.0.

Cincinnati is 2nd in the NIFL in rushing offense with 98.3 ypg.

Drillers are 3rd in the NIFL in rushing defense allowing only 44.1 ypg.

Drillers lead the NIFL in sacks for with 9.

Cincinnati RB Rayshawn Askew is 2nd in the NIFL in scoring with 14 TDs.

Shane Winchester is 1st in the NIFL in tackles for a loss with 9.

Eric Jackson is tied for 1st in the NIFL in passes broken up with 7.
