Beaumont Drillers News Release
After opening the season with a 72-52 victory over the Oklahoma Crude, the Drillers have spent this week preparing to meet division rival Tupelo on Saturday in Tupelo.
Defensively Coach Bryan Blake is looking to stop the Fire Ants running game. "After watching their game against Houma, it's apparent that they are now predominantly a running team. Actually they run everything off an option look, hoping you'll make a mistake and give up a big play. If everyone on the defense stays discipline and sticks to their assignments, it will be another good week for the Drillers."
On the offensive side of the game, Coordinator Alan Hafford is expecting another big game. "We definitely feel our offense will rank at the top of the league this season. Upon reviewing Tupelo's defense, I feel there are plenty of areas to exploit. Tupelo gave up 50 points last week, and with our offensive fire power, we feel things will be no different this week."
Game time at the Bankcorp South Center is 7:05 PM.
Game day tickets are still available for the remaining home schedule. Tickets can be purchased at any Ticketmaster outlet or the Beaumont Civic Center. For more information, contact the Beaumont Drillers at (409)212-1011. Beaumont Driller Football.....Get Drilled in 2004!
