Drillers get ready for 2004, Announce first tryout dates

The Drillers are gearing up for their second season of professional indoor football in Beaumont. With the season opener scheduled for mid-March 2004, the Drillers are currently looking to build another quality team as they take on the rest of the National Indoor Football League.

The Drillers’ only tryout set in Beaumont will take place on Saturday December 13th at the Salvation Army/Boys Club field on 2350 IH 10 East. The tryout is schedule to take place at 9:00 AM with registration beginning at 8:00 AM. All interested athletes must bring the following items to tryouts: cleats, turf or running shoes, and workout clothing for both cold and warm weather.

The cost of the tryout will be $50.00 which includes a t-shirt and a ticket voucher to the first home game. All participants must be 18 years or older and sign a waiver form before participating. Athletes can also pre-register at a cost of $40.00 by calling the Driller office before December 10th.

“We are looking to make several improvements across the board in our lineup,” General Manager Steven Reap said. “We are looking for local talent and dedicated athletes that are looking for an opportunity to play, gain exposure, and win at this level.”

The Drillers would also like to note that Season tickets are now available to the public. Prices are as follows Reserved, $130.00 General Admission $70.00. There are also Discounts available to children ages 3-12. Act now and receive a 10% discount on any season tickets purchased before December 22.
