Dragons Tim Booth Named MLL Offensive Player of the Week

San Francisco, CA - Major League Lacrosse announced its Week Six Players of the Week today, and for the second time this season, a San Francisco Dragon was named as top offensive player in the league. Under the strength of his 7-Point performance Saturday, which included a trio of two-point goals, Dragons midfielder Tim Booth took home the weekly honors.
In the rubber-match for the season series with the Denver Outlaws this weekend, Booth exploded for four goals, three of them two- pointers. Included amongst those goals was the game-winner of the especially important contest between the Dragons and Outlaws. The tense match went back and forth with both teams taking the lead at different points late in the game. When the clock ran out on the fourth quarter, the Dragons were the last ones standing, with a final score of 20-19.
In addition to his incredible production through scoring goals, Booth also helped the Dragons offense by creating opportunities, winning 6 of 9 face-offs and picking up one ground-ball. Says Dragons GM Doug Locker, "Tim is a total competitor and that showed in our win over Denver, he literally took over the game...he is showing that he is more than a guy who can just take face-offs, and that's why we wanted him in San Francisco."
Also contributing greatly to the Dragons offense was star attacker Ryan Powell, who was named Offensive Player of the Week in Week Four after his historic 9 goal, 12 point performance. This week, Powell added for 4 goals, 3 assists and 2 ground-balls.
The victory over Denver on Saturday might have huge play-off indications; with the possibility that only one team will come out of the West this year, the winner of the season series has the edge.
The San Francisco Dragons are home Saturday (July 1) to Kezar Stadium for their first ever match against the New Jersey Pride (3-3) at 1:00 p.m. PDT. Saturday (June 24)'s game against the Denver Outlaws will be telecast (Tape delay) on Fox SportsNet Bay Area (FSNBA) Thursday, June 29th at 10:30 a.m. PDT.
