
Dragons Head To Los Angeles For Last Game Of Season

Burlingame, CA - The San Francisco Dragons head to for their final game of the 2008 season against the Los Angeles Riptide this Saturday August 9. Face-off is set for 8pm (PT) in LeBard Stadium at Orange Coast College. The contest will be televised tape delayed on ESPN2 on Tuesday, August 12 at 12:30 pm (PT).
The game is the third matchup of the teams this season with LA leading series 2-0. San Francisco (3-8) enters the game after a 15-9 loss to Los Angeles last Saturday. The Riptide are 7-4 and will head to the 2008 MLL playoffs as a wildcard.
Attackman MLL All Star Jake Byrne leads the Dragons with 29 points (11 goals, 4 - 2point goals and 7 assists) and Attackman Lewis Ratcliff is second with 26 points (23 goals and 3 assists). Midfielder Bill McGlone has posted 22 goals and 8 assists for a total of 30 points this season with San Francisco and Washington. Midfielder Greg Gurenlian is 174/318 on face-offs (.547%), has 6 goals, 7 assists and 67 groundballs. In goal, captain Matt Vallone has a .489 save percentage, while captain defensemen MLL All Star Eric Martin has picked up 50 groundballs while adding 3 goals and 3 assists.
Attackman Jesse Hubbard leads the Riptide with 36 points (22 goals, 1- 2pt goal and 2 assists). Attackman Kevin Huntley is second on the score board with 33 points (28 goals and 5 assists) followed by midfielder Kyle Harrison with 17 goals and 13 assists. Attackman Chazz Woodson has 28 points (14 goals and 14 assists). Face-off specialist Anthony Kelly has .494% on 168/340 face-offs, 5 goals, 1 assist and has 43 groundballs. DJ Driscoll leads the Riptide in groundballs with 55. Goalkeeper Mickey Jarboe has a .531 save percentage while goalkeeper Jesse Kemp has seen playing time in two games against Denver for a save percentage of .500.
The 2008 NB ZIP MLL Championship Weekend takes place August 23-24 at Harvard Stadium in Cambridge, Mass. The semi-final games will be held at 12:00 PM ET and 3:00 PM ET on Saturday, August 23. The two Semi-Final winners will advance to the NB ZIP MLL Championship Game at 1:00 PM ET on Sunday, August 24. Saturday's first semi-final game, as well as Sunday's Championship Game will air live on ESPN2.
